Had the chance to take in some sight-seeing in Corpus Christi on Captain Clark's Flagship, located at the T-Heads. Captain Clark is a good friend of the family so it was fun being able to board the boat. I had a lot of excellent oppourtunities to see the sparkling city from the Flagship.

Before Hurricane Dolly...

sunset before hurricane dolly

I've been busy lately and it has been a while since I've posted anything. Hurricane Dolly came into town, but the night before she hit. I saw this beautiful sunset and just had to snap a picture of it. Hope everyone is safe from the hurricane.

A promise in the sky...

rainbow 7-5-08

All the rains have given us a rainbow. It actually stretched over Gregory, but this is just the picture I took from my backyard. Not the best one, but I thought I'd share the beauty of nature.

Independence Day

firework (2) 7-4-08  firework 7-4-08

It is true what they say about Gregory, Texas! They do have the best fireworks in the area. Corpus Christi has their big display, but the fireworks shot up by local residents around the area make the Corpus Christi display look small. Plus, in Gregory the show can last for hours. There was also competition from the family next door who was trying to out due another family when it came to their display. Next time you want to watch a real firework display, you might want to roll into Gregory, Texas and just find yourself a good location in the middle of the city. I'm almost certain that you can see some spectacular ariel shows.

Dog gone days of summer...

Luke 7-2-08        Rowly 7-2-08

My girlfriend invited me to the park and I decided to take my camera and practice on her dogs Luke (right) and Rowly (left). They were fun, and we were trying all kinds of shots. These are just a few that I thought were pretty cool! There fun dogs to be around.

San Antonio visit...

red flower 6-28-08                                         steeple 6-28-08

Did the traveling thing today and went to go visit a little place I like to call San Antonio. It's nice out there. It was hot though and boy was it ever. Did travel the famous River Walk and saw an interesting flower. I need to find out which species it is. The picture of the steeple I took was of St. Joseph's Church in the downtown area. One of the oldest churches in the United States. I'm back home safely and will be shooting at the coast once again.

Time to harvest...

Harvesting in Odem 6-25-08                    Harvesting in Odem 6-25-08 (2)

Today was fun at the Whately farms in Odem, Texas! They've been harvesting grain everywhere for the summer months. For the first time in a long time the grain is going to be high for these farmers. Right here is David Dario driving the combine. It was really, really and I mean really hot out there for the little time I was out there. Imagine what these guys go through each day.

Lots of Rain today...

web pic 6-24-08

Rain poured down in the skies of Sinton, Texas for the first time in over two months. I of course was soaking wet. I wanted to go find some pictures of rain related incidents. Here is one of those. An electrical worker is fixing a fuse from a transformer. He also had to untangle some wires that caused the fuse to bust. He replaced it and redid everything to put the power back on for Market St.
